PURE AND SIMPLE
Our philosophy is to keep things simple and our vision is of a kinder, gentler world. We use the vast natural pharmacy to make small batch first aid and personal care products with a minimal ingredient list that is recognizable and fully disclosed. Pure essential oils, many of which have scientifically-established medicinal value, are used for the active component of our products, along with simple waxes, butters, and oils, which have healing properties of their own. Where possible we source Fair Trade and Certified Organic ingredients. All products are specially formulated by owner Nancy Scott and are made locally in Canada.
It's important to know what we put on our skin. Our small-batch products are free of artificial fragrances and avoid the use of synthetic chemicals or colorants. Most importantly, they are free of the 'Toxic Ten'. That means, no triclosan, artificial musks, parabes, phthalates, petrolatum, formaldehyde releasing agents, sodium laureth sulfate or sodium lauryl sulfate, coal-tar derived colors, BHA or BHT, or silicone chemicals.
Most products are vegan (the only non-vegan ingredient is beeswax). None of the ingredients, nor the finished products, are tested on animals and we are proud to display PETA's Beauty Without Bunnies Logo.
MEET THE FOUNDER
eScential Wellness was established in Burlington, ON in 2005 by founder and CEO Nancy Scott. In January of 2018 Nancy sold the beauty product side of the business so she could focus on her most effective first aid and personal care products. She is an original do-it-yourselfer who feels passionate that we should know (and care!) about what we put in and on our bodies. She is the formulator of all the products at eScential Wellness. Nancy is a Certified Aroma Health Practitioner (CAHP) and a member of the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists. Nancy is also a certified reflexologist, as well as a Bach Foundation Practitioner. Previously, Nancy worked as a medical laboratory technologist, and has a solid clinical chemistry background. Nancy has trained extensively in the organic chemistry behind the science of essential oils. On-going education and research are an integral part of product development.
